Nowcast, a subsidiary of Finatext Group, is proud to have won "The Alternative Data Challenge - Asia 2024 Edition" pitch competition hosted by BattleFin.
BattleFin is a company that works with institutional investors, such as hedge funds, to help source alternative datasets globally. They organize events worldwide to connect data providers and buyers, building an ecosystem for alternative data in the institutional investor space.
Nowcast participated as a Japanese alternative data provider at BattleFin's Discovery Day Singapore, held on March 20th and 21st, 2024, in Singapore.
The "The Alternative Data Challenge - Asia 2024 Edition" held during the event aimed to discover outstanding alternative data providers from across Asia. Esteemed global investment institutions and tech companies such as Jump Trading, Balyasny, Capital Fund Management, and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority served as judges to determine the most innovative and impactful data providers.
Nowcast's diverse range of data, the practicality of its insights and use cases, and its consistent profitability were highly praised. Among 43 data providers from across Asia, Nowcast emerged as the top alternative data provider, securing the victory.
Moving forward, Nowcast will continue to support the decision-making of institutional investors both domestically and internationally by collecting and analyzing various alternative data, including credit card payment data, POS data, electronic receipt data, TV metadata, and recruitment wage data.
